I own a place in London and I rent it out, and of course I want my tenant to be happy so give him whatever he needs to make his life comfortable in his home. A few months ago, he wanted the boiler looked at and so I called round the gas company. They said the boiler could last 6 days or 6 years. It is cold in London at the moment and I thought that because I have had this boiler for 15 years, I will get a new one for my tenant, just in case. $6000 later, he has a fantastic new boiler. Now, we also rent in LA and we asked our landlady for the toilet to be fixed the other day, she said ‘No’. We asked if we could change the glass in the bathroom shower for a shower curtain so that we could wash our baby in the bath, at our own expense. She said ‘No’. Everything, with her is always a ‘No’. From my experience people fall in to one of two categories, givers or takers.
